Platte Valley Middle School has been a cornerstone of this community for more than 65 years. Within its walls, generations of students have grown, learned, and stepped out to make meaningful contributions to the world. It’s a place where teachers began their careers, spent decades shaping young minds, and retired with a legacy. Where students walked the same hallways as their parents and grandparents, carrying forward a shared history. Now, thanks to the unwavering dedication of the Platte Valley community, the district is poised to continue that legacy. Following overwhelming voter approval of the 2024 bond with a 64% majority in last November’s election, Platte Valley School District is proud to announce the groundbreaking of a brand-new middle school.

This pivotal project, made possible by the district’s successful bond sale and an outstanding credit opinion and rating, will mark the beginning of a new era for Platte Valley students. The new middle school, designed by RB+B Architects and constructed by JHL Constructors, is set to open Fall 2026 and will be a modern space where future generations can pursue excellence every day.

To commemorate this exciting step forward, Platte Valley School District invites the entire community to attend a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, April 11th, at 4:00 p.m. The event will take place just north of the old middle school football field, with parking available at the stadium lot (refer to the map). While we celebrate the promise of the future, we recognize that this groundbreaking marks more than the construction of a new building. It’s a symbol of our history, our shared experiences, and the generations that have walked through the doors of the existing middle school. Many of the strongest advocates for the 2024 bond were once students here, shaped by the very classrooms we are now replacing.

As we break ground, we do so with a promise: to honor the past while creating a space that will inspire students for decades to come. The new middle school will carry forward the values and spirit that have always defined Platte Valley, helping us fulfill our mission to Pursue Excellence for All: Every Student, Every Day.
